Waterford Issue Update – School Redistricting

On Thursday evening (Feb. 12, 2015), your Waterford HOA Board of Directors approved the attached letter to the Fayette County Board of Education regarding the proposed redistricting of elementary schools serving our neighborhood. This letter was transmitted to the Board of Education and its special School Zoning Committee on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015.
Waterford residents may educate themselves about the School Zoning Committee and the process being undertaken to redraw the school boundaries within our community by visiting the Fayette County Board of Education’s website: http://www.fcps.net/zones. Information about draft proposals being considered are available for review. Residents may submit comments directly to the School Zoning Committee via the online Let’s Talk forum: http://www.fcps.net/letstalk.
The School Zoning Committee has been convening public listening sessions within the community which provide impacted residents the ability to communicate directly and in-person with the committee. The next public listening session will be held on Monday, February 16 at Tates Creek High School from 6-8 p.m. We urge all concerned residents to attend this event and share their perspectives and/or concerns about the proposed school redistricting proposals.
