Flick & Float Cancelled for August 7

The swim team parents and supporters inform that, due to equipment and other reasons, Flick & Float is cancelled for this evening. Apologies to anyone who may be inconvenienced.

Flick & Float Friday, August 7th, 9 pm

Posted on behalf of the Waverunners: Our highly successful neighborhood swim team, Waterford Waverunners, are planning to host Flick & Float this Friday, August 7th, at the pool. The movie (whose title is to be revealed later) will begin shortly after 9 pm. If you intend to literally float, then it is recommended you bring a suitable floating apparatus. Deck furniture will also be available for non-floaters. Limited concessions may be available, and feel free to bring your own food and drink (in a *non-glass container* – very important).

New HOA Board President: John Mountjoy

Congratulations to John Mountjoy on his election to HOA Board President during last night’s executive session. We look forward to his leadership and to supporting him in every way possible. At the same time, a huge debt of gratitude is owed to the outgoing President, Mike Mccord, for his tireless and selfless efforts in service to the neighborhood. Mike is a wellspring of practical information and has been the “go-to” guy in too many instances to count. Thanks, Mike, and thanks for agreeing to serve as Vice President through the remainder of the calendar year.

Waverunners Victorious Again!

W vs P

Congratulations to the Waterford Waverunners for last night’s hard-won victory over their neighboring rivals, the Pinnacle Pirates!

Let’s Celebrate Independence Day Together!

We have several fun events scheduled for the Fourth of July, and we hope to see you at all of them.

1. Annual Waterford Parade.  Back by popular demand, our neighborhood parade will begin at 10:30.  As in previous years, the route begins at the clubhouse, runs north along Clearwater to the neighborhood entrance, returns along Clearwater to the south, and ends at the clubhouse.  Depending on spectator clamor and encouragement, additional laps might even be a possibility.  The parade is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am, and participants should be at the clubhouse parking lot at 10:15 am for marshaling.

2. All-Resident Swim.  Our swimming pool will be open to all Waterford residents throughout the day.  If you did not purchase a pool membership for the Summer, then you will need to bring a form of identification (e.g., driver’s license) that authenticates your residency in the neighborhood.

3. Pot Luck Lunch.  The HOA will host a pot luck lunch, scheduled to begin at noon, in the vicinity of the clubhouse.  The HOA will provide the main course (fried chicken) and drinks (iced tea and lemonade).  We ask that everyone who participates bring a suitably-sized side dish so that everyone is able to enjoy the meal.

See you there!
